On November 5th, 2016, Farscape is leaving Netflix. Here’s why you need to watch it before then.
What it is.
Farscape ran from 1999 to 2003 (when it was stupidly cancelled) and concluded with a three-hour miniseries called The Peacekeeper Wars in 2004.
What it’s about.
This guy!
His name is John Crichton. He’s an astronaut who gets shot through a wormhole and ends up on the other side of the galaxy. That’s when he meets these guys:
All of them become fugitives on the run from the Peacekeepers (uh… think space Nazis). So while John is trying to figure out how to get back home, he’s also figuring out how to survive on the other side of the galaxy where everything’s nuts.
Why you should watch it.
The short version: did you like Guardians of the Galaxy? Farscape is basically the TV version of Guardians of the Galaxy. The lovable rogue characters, the crazy antics, the found family aspect… it’s all there.
