rabid consumerism

I went shopping this afternoon for the first time in FOREVER (thank you, government tax returns). Good times. I managed to find a sale, and got a hoodie, a shirt and leggings all for $30. So feeling good about that, I *somehow* managed to talk myself into going to the comic book store and buying Serenity: Better Days. Weird how that happens, huh? ;)

(Also, I know I love anthropomorphizing my iPod's [Kermit!] shuffle, but whilst in the comic store, it decided to be extra nerdy, and flipped between the Doctor Who and Battlestar soundtracks, and The Humans are Dead. The big geek.)

Anywho, now I think I'll pop in some Supernatural DVDs and finish a pair of socks for the roomie. It's funny how a show I was highly sceptical of at first has now become my de facto knitting entertainment. But I think it's because I have the excuse of knitting furiously through all the scary bits. ...And the boys are pretty. *G*

Hooray for shopping! Did you get stuff for a Penny costume? And what outfit did you go for?

Not too much Penny costume stuff, though I did find a shirt like her blue one. Except I'm pretty sure it's purple. ;)

Explain.

But I think it's because I have the excuse of knitting furiously through all the scary bits.

That is one of the cutest sentences ever. *G*

Explain... leggings or sales? Because leggings are those things you put on your legs (generally under skirts) and sales are when you don't have to pay too much money for lots of awesomeness. ;)

Nah. Really?

*twirls cutely*

It was more of a "you wear leggings..." thing, with an eyebrow. I like pretending to be judgmental about fashion. :D

Nah. Really?

*twirls cutely*

You are quite shameless. ;)

TO BE FAIR... I wear leggings under other articles of clothing, in the winter, when it's cold. Not like some people who seem to think they are a complete outfit unto themselves. ;)

You are quite shameless.

ME? Never!

...Cupcake?

Oh! I take everything back. :D What kind of leggings, color and fabric-wise??

ME? Never!

You mean, you have shame but you feel it's not up to you standards so you leave it to languish in the bottom drawer of your mind?

...Cupcake?

*greed!hands*

Darn! Fooled again!

I'm glad we've got that cleared up. ;) I just got boring black yesterday, but I am the previous owner of some nice blue ones and some HIGHLY AWESOME ones of fire engine red! I am like a rainbow of leg-wear. As for fabric. Um... stretchy?

You mean, you have shame but you feel it's not up to you standards so you leave it to languish in the bottom drawer of your mind?

I have the normal amount of shame for things I do that are awesome! that, er, deserve shame. Doesn't mean I'm going to stop though. ;DDD

Darn! Fooled again!

BWA HA HA!

I'm glad we've got that cleared up. ;)

I would have hated for this misunderstanding to stand between us forever. *le grand sigh*

I just got boring black yesterday, but I am the previous owner of some nice blue ones and some HIGHLY AWESOME ones of fire engine red! I am like a rainbow of leg-wear.

Oooh! :D :D That would help waking up on winter mornings, right? :D

As for fabric. Um... stretchy?

I always wonder whether that's comfortable. I tend to wear (boring-colored) cotton-type tights (with the feet) and they are very comfortable and breathe-y and such. I never know about the stretchy fabrics.

Doesn't mean I'm going to stop though. ;DDD

.....do you have a special shame-resistant mind-polish?

BWA HA HA!

(mine is an evil laugh)

Also, big. I am quite impressed by its power to teach me how you enjoy evilness.

Heehee. This all sounds EXCELLENT. :D

And your iPod may be a geek, but mine is psychic! It always seems to know what I want to listen to next when it's on shuffle. At least twice now I have thought "wouldn't it be nice if it went to that song ..." and then it did. Totally creepy.

Ooh! Psychic iPod! I love Kermit, but that's much better than mine. Mine really just wants to play Christmas music all the gosh darn time. Especially in July. *G*

Hi! I happened upon your LJ while searching for Pushing Daisies picspams, was intrigued by the first few most recent posts, and then I went to your profile and saw this:
I am horrendously shipper obsessed, but tend to be the defender of all things canon, not being a big fan of the "unconventional pairings". ("The creators said it this way, therefore it must be! WHEE!")
Which pretty much mirrors my thoughts, EXACTLY. And we have PD, The Office, Bones, Doctor Who and Lost in common, which out of my 8 frillion numerous fandoms are all in my top tier. Can I add you as a friend?

[identity profile] hjea.livejournal.com 2008-10-18 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey excellent - more defenders of canon!

Feel free to friend me and I'll friend back! I'm always happy for more friends. Especially of the Bones persuasion. I need more of those.

Glad you found me, I hope I can keep up the intrigue. ;)

YAY SPN!!!! *tickles and pokes and nudges and giggles* You haz a knitting fandom. I will approve of this. :) YAY BOYS.

Also, this book. I will be borrowing it. So you're aware.

Also also, I had a dream last night that I only got a 10/30 on our first HOST essay. I... don't know why an essay would be graded out of 30, but there you have it. Are we getting those back soon, do we know?

I'm trying to find Horrible gloves, but to no success. D: Does your sister have a resource she found that she would be willing to impart? My horrible coat is AWESOMETASTIC. :D

[identity profile] hjea.livejournal.com 2008-10-19 05:07 am (UTC)(link)
Yay, SPN for knitting fandom! *uses awesome Bela shot first icon just cuz I can* What do you think the chances are that Sam sekritly knits? 50/50? ;)

Also, this book borrowing? I figured.

And eep! Bad essay dreams. Clearly we will both get A's. Clearly! Probably. Er... Now you've got me worried. Think they're up on BLS?

And Mimi did say something about a Dr. Horrible Costume Community, so I would look that up if I were you? Otherwise I think people are getting dish gloves and painting them. Can't wait to see how it turned out!

[identity profile] noblealice.livejournal.com 2008-10-21 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
Isn't naming inanimate objects peachy keen? I totally want to make a poll to ask my flist how many things they have named and what they are.

What season of SPN? I skipped 90% of S3 but now I'm REALLY into S4 (this may or may not have something to do with a certain angel and an awesome time-travel episode)
ext_44668: (Default)

[identity profile] hjea.livejournal.com 2008-10-21 01:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Ooh, you should definitely do that poll! It would be so neat to see everyone's answers. Surprisingly enough, I think my laptop is one of the few things I haven't named, though after watching 2001: A Space Odyssey last night, I kind of glad of it. ;D

As for SPN, I was rewatching some s2 episodes (Tricia Helfer!) but I'm all caught up to the current episodes. I actually really liked s3, made me want to keep watching into this new season (which, OMG, so cool, ANGELS!). I loved Bela, and even though I know the writer's strike had mos to do with it, I'm still pissed that her storyline got so shortchanged. At the very least, she and Dean really should have had angry sex. ;)

...And now I'm just dying to figure out what's going on with Sam and Ruby.
