BSG - 4x13 - "The Oath"

You know the problem with having to wait until Saturday morning to watch BSG is that I see all the posts about it on my flist and I get SO TEMPTED. I guess the solution could be to NOT go on LJ while I'm waiting for the show to download but, uh... no.



HOLY FRICKEN-FRAK THAT WAS AWESOME.

And you know, terrible, for Adama and pretty much everyone else I love, but still such an amazing and exciting piece of action to watch. It felt like "Valley of Darkness" or "Pegasus" or all the New Caprica episodes. I sometimes forget how well this show does action between all the very cool introspective, philosophical/ethical/theological/psychological episodes as well, BUT DAYUM.

Okay, just a few things:
-ROSLIN AND ADAMA. AND HOW EVERYONE ELSE IS SO AWKWARD AROUND THEM AND THEY'RE BOTH JUST *shrugs* "Whatever."
-AND LEE AND KARA. TOGETHER AGAIN. AND SHE LAID ONE ON HIM AND HE WAS ALL "What was that??" *hand!flutters* AND KARA'S JUST GRINNING BECAUSE SHOOTING MAKES HER FEEL BETTER AND SHE'S ALIVE AND CRAZY AND YAY.
-BUT MY FIGHTING AGATHONS. :((((((((((( And it had to be that specialist from the Pegasus, didn't it? AHHHHHHHHHHHH. (Points for continuity though) And threatening to rape Athena right in front of her child, and hitting Helo, and POOR SAM, AND THIS IS ALL VERY DISTRESSING. LEE AND KARA BETTER GET THEM ALL OUT OF THE BRIG AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. AND THAT'S PRONOUNCED ASAP. *firm nod*
-RACECTRACK!!!!!!!!!! WHY WOULD SHE SIGN UP WITH GAETA? AFTER ALL SHE'S DONE, SHE'S JUST GOING TO THROW THAT AWAY? I'm sorry, but I never could have believed that she would just stand by and let them shoot Lee Adama. AND THEY DID KILL LAIRD! (*sniff*) AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHYYYYYYY, RACETRACK? Maybe she's playing both sides? Mebbe? (*holds out faint hope*)
-I won't say too much about Gaeta, but dude? Adama will sonn have a reckoning ALL over your ass, and I will stand by and laugh. LAUGH.
-Nina already said it, but as soon as Roslin began to tak control again, I felt like everything was going to be okay. SHE IS MAGICAL.
-AND EVERYTIME BALTAR DOES ANYTHING ON SCREEN, I DIED A LITTLE FROM THE LOLs. JAMES CALLIS. OMG.

Okay, I'm going to stop there before I slip into true inanity, but NEXT WEEK!!!!!!!! ARE YOU HERE YET??????????

Hee I loved the Roslin and Adama making out at the end. Lee and Kara were so awkward with that lol

I swear when Gaeta is taken down I will cheer... even if I'm watching by myself in my random rented room in a grandma's nice house (which will probably be the case lol) frakking Gaeta, Adama is not happy with him.

That's exactly what I was thinking.

and as for Gaeta, I was hating him, but then I saw his inner emotional turmoil. He's done awful things that he will never be able to forgive himself for, and he is trying to redeem himself by... well, doing more awful things. He is confused.

Yeah, that's a good point that Gaeta is obviously already starting to regret so many decisions. But he's just so whiny and self-important.

But this is an awesome character arc. I bet Alesandro Juliani is having a field day acting it. ;)

I'm forced to watch BSG Saturday mornings, too. Ignore the posts on your flist. You can resist!

I like how you can sum up everything I'm thinking about an episode. Are you psychic? ;-) But yeah, this ep was very good, full of suspense. I was worried they would run out of ideas once they found Earth, but clearly not. This revolution plot line can run for a couple more eps at least.

And it's so cute how everyone's all "Whoa, Adama and Roslin?!" It's like they can't decide whether to be awkward or happy for them. But that scene at the end. They share one more look before the doors close. Perfect. Of course, the second they're happy, something bad happens. Sigh. Wouldn't be good television without it.

I was worried Kara was going to shoot Racetrack. Poor ol' Racetrack. She's been through so much on this show. But let's face it, a lot of the secondary characters are going to die before the show is over.

Next week can't come soon enough. :-)

I think she's been a lot of different things over the years. She was definitely Boomer's ECO when they went to the Basestar and ~somebody~ found out they were a cylon. But she's just always been there, teasing Helo, playing cards, finding planets. I guess it's a testament to their storytelling that the situation has gotten so bad that someone so reliable like Racetrack is choosing treason. But I still hope she'll help the Admiral in the end. Don't kill Racetrack!
