LET'S TALK ABOUT FRINGE (for something new and exciting)
So slight sidebar first: I was catching up on Q on the CBC website (fellow Canuckticians! do you love Q too?? Sometimes I wonder why we even NEED other radio stations *huggles the CBC to me forever*) and there was a great interview with Adele that I was enjoying very much, and then a link to a studio performance she did of her song, Turning Tables. AND THEN I GOT A LOT OF FEELINGS.
The song grows to this powerful bridge of--Next time I'll be braver; I'll be my own saviour; Standing on my own two feet--that immediately made me think of Olivia I-SAVE-MY-OWN-DAMN-SELF Dunham. Which is actually funny, because as noted--Olivia doesn't need a next time. She all ready is her own saviour, every time, and pretty much has been since the age of nine when she shot her step-dad to protect her family. So after turning that over in my mind for a bit, I thought "AHA!" (I mean it, I do do this) ALTLIVIA DUNHAM. And again, it's not that either Olivia is anything close to a damsel in distress, but I think that these lyrics I had such a gut reaction to work so much better when you look at everything she's gone through since Walter chose her to fight his battle on the other side. And I am desperate to get more of her story since she found out about her pregnancy. I want to know if she wants this baby or not. I want to know how this will change her alliances (if at all). I want to see if she starts rebelling against Walternate's dictatorial obsession with defending his side, and starts fighting for (and with?) our side to (ahem :D) SAVE ALL THE UNIVERSES.
Anyway. Yes. FEELINGS.
I did this tumblr thing because lacking anything even remotely resembling video editing skills I wanted to ~express~ these things just the same. I mean, my photoshop skills are nothing to write home about either, but I think at least y'all can see what I was going for. I don't know if any one else shares my feelings about Altlivia's choices and adventures to come--or if Turning Tables would even MAKE a good vidding song--but of course you are welcome to try.
AND OF COURSE I WOULD ALSO JUST BE HAPPY TO TALK ABOUT ALTLIVIA AND HOW AWESOME AND TRAGIC AND BEAUTIFUL SHE IS. AND HOW FRINGE IS THE BEST EVER AND IT RULES MY SOUL. :D
In other news-y things: It is March which means I am a MONTH away from finishing my Masters. Um. AHHHHHHH. I am excited to come to the end of my sixth straight year of university, but I am possibly now even more terrified that the real world is catching up with me. o_0 DOES ANYONE WANT TO GIVE ME A JOB? PLEASE? I'M ACTUALLY A MATURE AND RESPONSIBLE WORKER I SWEAR.
