the day I went ahead in time

Makes my timey-wimey icon seem extra appropriate, doesn't it? ;)

Funny thing. Roommate #1 and I spent most of the afternoon reading in the Public Gardens, which I do believe, have risen to being my favourite place in Halifax as they are completely gorgeous in the summertime. But anyways, after spending nearly four hours reading in the shade (she was starting 'The Golden Compass' after much recommendation from everyone, and I was giggling my way through 'The Eyre Affair') we decided to just take a turn through the gardens before heading home. And lo and behold, there was a new fountain near the entrance. Take a look at the plaque, and take special note of the date:

ROOMMATE: Er... August 6, 2007 is tomorrow.
ME: Sweet. We must have time travelled.
ROOMMATE: Hey, cool.

*G*

It's definitely because I was wearing my new 'The Angels have the Phonebox' t-shirt and was thus open to travel through the time vortex. Worth a giggle over anyway.

So, if anyone comes to Halifax and finds themselves enjoying our beautiful Public Gardens, watch out for that spontaneous time travel. It Could Happen To YOU! (Though, knowing you lovely flisties, that might just be an incentive.)

P.S. Look how pretty my city is!squee:

...YOU TRAVELED IN TIME.

Rock. ON. :)

I know!!!

Now -- where the heck's my TARDIS? :D

It is now my goal in life to go to that graveyard in Halifax and travel in time. OMG.

It's definitely because I was wearing my new 'The Angels have the Phonebox' t-shirt and was thus open to travel through the time vortex.

Clearly.

*runs out to find similar t-shirt in order to text this theory*

Um, that would be "test." I suppose you could "text" a theory, but it sounds like WAY more work. *nods*

Dude - it was the Public Gardens, not the graveyard. The graveyard is across the street. ;)

But see! More reasons to come to Halifax. Maybe I could even have a Who!shirt waiting for you! (*nudge nudge*)

I suppose you could "text" a theory, but it sounds like WAY more work.

*snorts*

Is it weird that I now want to 'text theories' when my classes start?

Wow. That makes a lot more sense than what I said. (Who would READ in a graveyard? WHY did that seem perfectly normal to me?)

Maybe I could even have a Who!shirt waiting for you! (*nudge nudge*)

OMG. *knocks over entire cities in haste to get over there*

Too much Buffy in your youth. *nods sagely* 'Cause in the Buffyverse, studying for SATs in the cemetary is just the logical thing to do.

*knocks over entire cities in haste to get over there*

YAY! Though, I feel I should mourn Moncton more in its passing.

...Oh well. *g*

Spontaneous Time Travel! That's awesome. :)

And you got the t-shirt!! I do believe it's all because of the t-shirt. *runs away to buy one and be imbued with spontaneous time travel powers, as long as they don't spontaneously time travel me into crappy places and times*

Spontaneous time travel is fun times. *hugs t-shirt*

Though I must say, now I'm waiting for the day when I get to travel further than tomorrow. Maybe a week, say. Hope your shirt works out! *g*

I want to travel through time! Mental note... must go to Halifax. Do you have a teacher's college there?

Also *yay* for The Golden Compass, those books are some of my all time favourites!

Time travel is good times. I can confirm it. But alas, there is no Teacher's College down here - I heard from someone that nearly all of the TC's in the Maritimes are gone. I think there's one in NB but that's all. You'll have to come up with another reason to travel to The Rift Halifax. ;)

YAY GOLDEN COMPASS. Best. Books. Ever.

W00T !!! Time Travel-y!!!!

Where did you get the T-Shirt?!!!! Did you make it? Order it? Find it in a police box on the side of the street? Where? WHERE?

I'm too (deliberately, mind you) out of touch with Who!Fandom to hear about these things - I don't even know what this fen/fan thing is, though I've seen it about, so you have to give me the inside scoop on these sorts of things *nods* You're my inside source, darlin'!!!

I really liked the gardens when we were there... wish it hadn't been raining... but I'm not sure I'd want to time travel a day ahead like you did, cuz, I'd lose a day of my vacation!!! *GRIN*

Made it. Pretty new blue shirt and a good old fashioned iron-on. So... not the best quality, but it makes me happy. I also put a leeetle TARDIS on the back for extra nerd points. ;)

But I'm not sure I should be you guide to the Who!fandom. I tend to avoid it myself. Only just found out what this whole fan/fen thing was about after asking Goldy a couple weeks ago. (Apparently it's the singular and the plural. Weird.) But I shall try my hardest to Who!source you up! Um... David Tennant is a very popular Doctor. There -- how's that for inside-sourciness. ;)

The gardens are beautiful - yesterday especially now that everything's in bloom and the sun was out. *sighs* So gosh darn peaceful. You'll just have to trek back to see them. ;)

Weeee! It sounds awesome! Will there be pictures??!

*pets* don't worry about not being into Who!fandom enough to be my guide....I'm quite content to be fannish from afar and through others *GRIN* It's safer ;o)

Next time we're out your way, we'll definately stop by the gardens again - I want to see them in the sun!!! :D

Very pretty. I want to come visit!!!

On the topic of time travel, have you got a certain pocketwatch lying around that you haven't paid much attention to, ever? Can you remember when you got it or where it came from?

Come visit! I cleaned the house and everything today - it's very hospitable. ;)

Read that and then snorted with the laughter. Water may or may not have shot out my nose. *g* And now that you mention it...

*does the 'I am totally a Timelord' dance*

YAY FOR TIME TRAVELLING! I'm surprised the city never caught that timeloop there, though. I mean, what else are our tax dollars for?
ext_44668: (Shippers)

[identity profile] hjea.livejournal.com 2008-07-05 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
YAY INDEED.

Though frankly, I would probably pay tax dollars to insure there were MORE timeloops. ;)

[identity profile] xtinethepirate.livejournal.com 2008-07-05 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
*giggledy-poke* Why does that utterly fail to surprise me?
