best homework ever

I just got back from a screening of Serenity for my Sci-fi class. WIN! My prof was being very "This is Serious Business - take notes for this will be on the exam!" And then geeking out by pointing out some of the movie props he owned. ;)

But I did take many a studious note. Things like: "control matrix" and "heroism = not what it seems." ...Beside notes that read: "OMG, Mal has great hair!" I try my best. Learning is important.

*geeker!joy*

Oh, and also:

Yeah. I know. This is some kind of cosmic April fool's joke, right?

Despite the joke, those are very pretty pictures!

But, god I am so ready for spring!!!

SO much fun -- and getting to watch it on a big screen again, in a roomful of people (some of whom hadn't seen it) was pretty awesome in and of itself. And we had strawberries. ;)

And yes, I agree - it is absolutely gorgeous outside now. I'm lucky to live in a neighbourhood with lots of trees, and all these old wooden houses, so looking down some of the side streets they just look like paintings. Very serene. And yet... after five months, I'm way way WAY ready for a change.

Dr. Haslam pretty much wins at life, dude. I was trying to be all serious with my notes. I think I kinda failed. But I didn't comment on Mal's hair, at least? *giggles*

We'll have to compare notes during our rewatch for, *coughs*, our Serious Studying Time. *nods* Not for geeky giggles. No sirree.

Dude. The closest I ever got to that kind of awesome in a class was when we watched Gosford Park in my crime fiction class and I got to stare at Clive Owen for three days.

Oh, I love Gosford Park! I'd say anytime you get to watch a beloved film in class is good times. :)

Mmm... Clive.

That must be the best class ever. My sci fi English prof only mentioned Firefly once in passing.

I bet if I had been in your class I would have annoyed everybody by saying the dialogue before the characters could. :-D And Serenity on the exam! You won't even have to study because you know it so well.

Oh wow. Our prof is a FANBOY, man. He's got a Blue Sun clock in his office. I can't imagine him not finding excuses to throw in Firefly.

Though to be fair, Serenity does fit in quite well with the class's theme - utopias and their problems being the main one. Though now I'm suspicious that he designed it just so he could fit in the movie...

I love the first picture. It's so beautiful, and the random yellow. I know that wasn't the point, but... it is. xo

I want to take your classes! How much better does it get? You get to gather academic brownie points by geeking out over your fannish obsession! Wow!

Also, I know you all hate the snow and want warmth and all... but it just looks so pretty and delicate with all the white! Lovely picutre! *g*

You got to see Serenity in class? That's so cool. I shouldn't complain, I get to see Our Mrs. Reynolds, but this is why I love Liberal Arts education!!!

Well, at least it's a very picturesque joke....

I feel you should write a full essay on the effectiveness of Nathan's hair and nostril acting ;)

I love when courses use material you already love. You're going to ace that section of the exam. You'll be able to to full quotes and everything!
