Here's the drabble requests I wrote yesterday. Reposting here for my ever important posterity. ;)

[pd: ned/chuck; so near so far]
Inches away, she sits at the Piehole’s counter and his rubber glove-clad hand reaches for her – the first time he has initiated such daring – and she pulls back.
“I’m scared, Ned.” She says. Fearless Chuck.
“Because now I think I know how much this will hurt when it ends.”
The word “end” catches in his throat, and he wants to plead with her not to do this. But he can see in her eyes that now is when she becomes untouchable.

[dw: donna, doctor; post-“turn left”]
The TARDIS is not hurtling now, but streaking, tearing, charging through time and space, and the Doctor stands at the console, frantic, glassy-eyed and shaking ever so slightly. Donna gulps.
“Doctor, those words. They were…”
“Yeah.” He doesn’t look at her, but keeps circling the TARDIS’s circuitry with hyperactive intensity.
“And by ‘end of the world’ – I’m guessing you don’t mean the run-of-the-mill, big scary alien decides to destroy everything, that we seem to run into every week.”
“No, this is the real thing. The one that will probably kill us and every single living thing in all the worlds, in all times-“
“-Oh.” Good to know.
She can’t help herself. “But how do you know that now-“
“-stars are going out, walls between worlds are crumbling and…” He stops. He looks at her. And in his face is a feeling she cannot begin to guess at. “Rose.”
She repeats the word back. “Rose?” And then- “…That woman.”
Things are beginning to make themselves clear, and she can feel the hope come flooding from this damaged man before her whom she calls friend. And just as suddenly, Donna finds herself terrified of all that is about to happen.

[rh: robin/marian; oranges]
He had loved oranges, he said. One of the few pleasures he had had in the Holy Land.
There is a crowd around the stall, but Djaq scoffs when she sees the “exotic fruits brought back from the Orient” and dismissively waves a hand over the brown and withered wares, assuring them that here is no comparison to the freshly plucked reality. Still, Robin deftly picks one up to hold beneath her nose and, smiling as he whispers in her ear, Marian closes her eyes. At first she only smells the musty cloves, stuffed inside to keep it from putridity. But then, as she breathes in deeper, comes a tiny waft of something sweet and sharp.
In that moment, Marian thinks she may understand him a little better.
Other things:
-I started reading a book on Elizabeth Bathory, which is dark and gruesome and really, really interesting. Makes me really want to see Anna Friel in the film Bathory now.
-
goldy_dollar wrote Doctor/Rose reunion fic! Soon to be Jossed, but very much enjoyed by me. I really don't think it's fair of Saturday to take so long getting here.
-I have an interview tomorrow! For a volunteer position. So, er, the kind that doesn't pay you. But hey, it's something, right?
-I may be late to the party on this, but how awesome and self-indulgent is Wordle? You make pretty graphics out of your writing! Lookee, I made one for the drabbles. Such fun. ;)

Still love my drabble. I need Saturday. NOW. *is bursting*
I have an interview tomorrow! For a volunteer position. So, er, the kind that doesn't pay you. But hey, it's something, right?
Ooh, that IS something. And that might be the kind of thing that not only looks good on your CV, but could lead to something else. What are you doing? Anything spiffy?
-[Bad username or site: goldy_dollar / @ livejournal.com] wrote Doctor/Rose reunion fic! Soon to be Jossed, but very much enjoyed by me.
Eeee! (And I know, right? Me! Writing Doctor/Rose reunion fic. Shocking.) *GLOMPS*

See, that's what I'm banking on. It's at the Natural History museum here, and considering my vague future career plans involve museums, it's experience I really need. And it's one day a week, so still plenty of time to find that exciting job that WILL keep me fed.
And if you write reunion fic, shocking though it may be, I know it's in good hands. :D
*GLOMPS YOU BACK*

ALSO, NOT ENOUGH ROBIN/MARIAN. ALSO ALSO, I AM DYING. WHEN IS S3 GOING TO BE HERE? (AND SATURDAY IS TAKING FAR TOO LONG TO GET HERE, FOR REAL.)
no subject
ALSO, TOTALLY WITH YOU. MIGHT COMPLETELY DIE BEFORE SATURDAY.
ALSO, WHAT IN THE JESUS ARE THEY GOING TO DO IN AN S3 WITHOUT HARRY LLOYD, ANJALI JAY, OR LUCY FUCKING GRIFFITHS FOR CHRISSAKE.

THIRDED.
ALSO, WHAT IN THE JESUS ARE THEY GOING TO DO IN AN S3 WITHOUT HARRY LLOYD, ANJALI JAY, OR LUCY FUCKING GRIFFITHS FOR CHRISSAKE.
I am... kinda filled with dread about this. I really don't want it to be a sausage-fest-revenge-seeking-on-Gisbourne-oh-new-girlfriend show. I WANT MY OUTLAWS, DAMNIT!
*rocks in corner*

SERIOUSLY. MAYBE WE CAN BLACKMAIL THEM TO AIR IT SOONER WITH WORD OF SOME KIND OF STRANGE DOCTOR WHO DEATH PACT. THERE IS WAY TOO MUCH CAPSLOCK IN THIS BUT I DON'T CARE. *flaily flaily flail*

I AM STILL HOLDING ONTO SOME KIND OF FEEBLE HOPE THAT ALL THE ANGRY RESPONSES THEY GOT RE: LUCY GRIFFITHS LEAVING WILL BE ENOUGH FOR THEM TO TIE EVERYTHING TOGETHER. Especially if Jonas is leaving after S3.

Aaaand, this is why I love my friends list.

YES. *HUGS*
Also, I may have to request a drabble from you since you are oh-so-delightful at it. But can it be a smutty drabble? Do you do those things?

Sorry!

Good luck with the interview! Volunteer work doesn't pay you, but it does give you that feeling of moral fulfillment. (Or moral superiority, take your pick. :P )
And whee! I should get a book about Elizabeth Bathory. Anna rocks.
(P.S. Catherynne Valente [

I adore you too! Thanks for reading them all, dahlink. I also don't really know where the darkness came from in those two.
But I like it.Seems appropriate for Who at the moment though. And Ned and Chuck just play heartbreak really REALLY well.As long as there are giggles and eye sex after. ;)

Thank you! I think it went well. I dazzled them with my museum geekery. *g* Thus I shall choose moral superiority and act more smug than I already do.

I could just see how hard the TARDIS would be pushing itself in that situation. How the Doctor's panic(/excitement?) would be affecting it. Yeah, and how Rose's appearance is both the BEST THING EVER and "shit, we're really screwed this time."
