Ned/Chuck drabble

Midterms turn on the inspiration like a tap. And of course, Ned and Chuck are inspiring in their own way. ;) Now, if only they would inspire me to write that Wordsworth paper. Hmm...

AND it's exactly 100 words! This makes me happy. *g*

***
Ned rolled over. “Tell me about your dream.”

“Well you were there, Scarecrow.”

“Yeah?” He blushed and leaned just a bit closer.

“Yeah.” A wicked grin. “I was holding you in my arms.”

His heart thumped.

“I was holding you, and all of a sudden you dissolved into… millions of shiny little bits. It was beautiful.”

He noticed the tears slipping down her face then, making a little damp spot on her pillow.

“Why are you…?”

“Oh.” She caught the tears against her fingertips, and they shimmered in the morning sun.

“I just wanted to hold you a while longer.”
***

And in the interests of spreading Lee Pace adorableness throughout the world, check out this (scroll down a bit) interview he did with Kristin Veitch (yes granted, she can be a bit annoying, but it's Lee Pace). She also interviews Anna Friel, whose accent makes me lament the fact that Chuck isn't British, and Kristin Chenoweth, who is as always hilarious. And talks about her crush on Lee Pace. YEAH. I love the PD cast! *squishes them*

What a perfect little ficlet :) They are so cute but the angst is right there with the cuteness. You did a great job of balancing that out here. As always, great writing!

Aw, thank you so much! I am just so addicted to the cute/angst balance (with a lotta whimsy thrown in) that PD has, and it is EATING MY BRAIN. *g*

[identity profile] xtinethepirate.livejournal.com 2007-10-22 06:53 pm (UTC)(link)
AH! This is SAD, dude! I don't even watch the show (but fortunately I know enough to have understood this) and it was STILL sad.

Also, I'm verrry jealous. I don't know how you get the time to write so much and do it WELL. We might have to have a little TALK about this tomorrow. *smiles*

[identity profile] hjea.livejournal.com 2007-10-22 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)
You're so sweet! *squishes like a squishy thing* And don't be jealous because I know for a fact that you can write awesomely your own self. Even if it is teh slash. ;)

We might have to have a little TALK about this tomorrow.

Uh oh. That sounds ominous. I do school work, I swear!

(And you should watch the show. *iz redundant* Because... JEDI!!!!)

[identity profile] xtinethepirate.livejournal.com 2007-10-23 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
SPEAKING of Jedi, one of my friends just linked me to THIS (http://www.chud.com/index.php?type=news&id=12268) which she described as "Darth Vader in LOVE... in the way of The Office."

I immediately thought of you there, so WATCH! I dont know how comparable it is to dynamics in The Office, but it's making me laugh. ^__^

(and whaddya mean "even if it IS slash"??!? SLASH = THE WIN, thankyouverymuch. hehehe *hits you with a slashy icon JUST BECAUSE I CAN*)

[identity profile] hjea.livejournal.com 2007-10-23 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
AW, Darthy-poo!!!!!!!! *squishes him* I can kinda see where your friend gets The Office reference, in that there is some awkward lovin' going on there, but mostly I agree with you - it's just making me laugh for its own self. Man, now I wanna go re-read the 'I harth Darth' blog.

SLASH = THE WIN, thankyouverymuch.

Yes, yes. *pats*

[identity profile] xtinethepirate.livejournal.com 2007-10-23 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
Lol, I Harth Darth. That comic was so much wee!Vaderkins love. Now you're making me want to change my moodtheme back to it.... *looks at SPN-love, torn* The ending of that Darth vid made me sad though... the poor wee thing got his heart all broked. *laughs*

Yes, yes. *pats*

(I kid because I love)

[identity profile] xtinethepirate.livejournal.com 2007-10-23 01:32 am (UTC)(link)
AHA! I knew y'alls were crazy!!!!

*looks around quickly* What? Who? Where?? *BIG innocent eyes* Surely you don't mean ME???

*gives bandaid anyways... with slashy stuffs on it*
ext_44668: (Default)

[identity profile] hjea.livejournal.com 2007-10-23 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
Well, as long as they're the pretty slashy bandaids.

*slaps it on*

[identity profile] xtinethepirate.livejournal.com 2007-10-23 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
I am offended, darling. Would I give you any UGLY slash? That would just be morally wrong.

[identity profile] orange-yarn.livejournal.com 2007-10-22 07:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh! That's so sweet and sad... I loved it!

Thank you!

Wow, not only in Anna Friel British, she's northern! I love her accent, especially the way she says "Chuck". *hee* And EVERYONE has a crush on Lee Pace. Why is everyone on this show adorable?

Also, Kristin Chenowith is shorter than me. Yay!
ext_44668: (the office-jim pam b/w)

[identity profile] hjea.livejournal.com 2007-10-22 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I think I read that she's from the Midlands somewhere. Oh British people. I think Anna Friel and Chris Eccelstone have to team up and read me bedtime stories now. *nods*

And seriously, how could you NOT have a crush on Lee Pace? Chenoweth (yes, someone in the world in shorter than you. Congratulations.) laid out the reasons why. GUHknvwoerbnplerg! *swoons*

[identity profile] hjea.livejournal.com 2007-10-22 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, and Sean Bean should come too.

[identity profile] xtinethepirate.livejournal.com 2007-10-23 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
Jumping into your conversation to wholeheartedly agree that Sean Bean should come and read bedtime stories to poor university students like us. He can bring Jude Law along as well. You know, if he wants to. *smiles*
ext_44668: (Cheeky Bugger)

[identity profile] hjea.livejournal.com 2007-10-23 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
Ooh, we should definitely make a petition!

'University Students for sexy Educational British Actors as Bedtime-story-readers for their sexyness Academic Value'.

(GAH, why do I not have a Sean Bean icon? I suppose David Tennant will have to fill in as the sexy educational British actor *g*)

[identity profile] xtinethepirate.livejournal.com 2007-10-23 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
Of course! I mean, clearly we would get SO much more out of literature if we heard it read in its original accent! I mean, isn't that why they print texts in their dialects?

Ewan McGregor is another one for the list. Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan have wicked awesome voices too... they're not as sexy Academic as, say, Jude, Sean, or Christian Bale, but we could still settle for that, yes?

[identity profile] hjea.livejournal.com 2007-10-23 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
Mmm, I could go for Richard Armitage (from the new Robin Hood) as well. I has a thing for the Northern British accents. Guuuuuuuuuh.

[identity profile] xtinethepirate.livejournal.com 2007-10-23 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
I could go for Hugh Laurie too. Ooooh, or Australian accents. Hugh Jackman and Jesse Spencer yusssssssssss.
ext_44668: (Default)

[identity profile] hjea.livejournal.com 2007-10-23 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm, then I invoke the right for Kiwis to join in too.

Peter Jackson and Flight of the Conchords FTW!

[identity profile] xtinethepirate.livejournal.com 2007-10-23 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
Well clearly, we can't discriminate against any accents of pretty boys. That would just be WRONG. *bright smiles*

[identity profile] noblealice.livejournal.com 2007-10-24 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
Totally delayed comment but I just wanted to tell you that I thought this ficlet was perfect! I love how one small word can describe them so well with Charlotte's "wicked grin" and Ned's "thumping heart".
ext_44668: (shippers)

[identity profile] hjea.livejournal.com 2007-10-24 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
Hee, delayed comments are win. Thank you!

(And it's interesting that you called her Charlotte? Was that intentional, or just felt natural to you right now?)

[identity profile] noblealice.livejournal.com 2007-10-24 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
Actually, I've been calling her Charlotte in my mind from the beginning just because it's what her aunts called her and she said to Ned that "you're the only one who ever called me that". So I imagine she's spent more time being Charlotte than being Chuck and it's their little pet-name-thing that I'll leave to them.

I sound crazy right? Talking like they are real people? *sigh*
ext_44668: (Tea)

[identity profile] hjea.livejournal.com 2007-10-24 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
No, I like that. And it does make sense. I mean, we know her as Chuck, because we're introduced to her through Ned's experience, but she is Charlotte. (Or was? Is Charlotte Charles dead now when everyone who knew her as such thinks so?) Oh uh. I'm already breaking out the meta.

(What, they're not real??!! ;))
