Feeling random is cool. If a bit random.

There is not enough banana yoghurt in the world. Or at least there isn't at my grocery store. There's banana-strawberry, which is still good, but no just banana. They have no banana. I might cry.

Small spoiler for Torchwood 2x03

1) Yes, I'm watching it. Despite not being able to watch more than ten minutes of the first season eps before wanting to turn them off, this season is... intriguing me. At least I'm not as irritated by the characters as I was.
2) BUT: When Jack was reading the report from 1918 that said there was a girl with a Union Jack, I REALLY thought that was a reference to Rose for a minute. Until I realized that a) Rose wasn't wearing the Union Jack shirt in Cardiff and b) wrong war. Still, it was an exciting minute for me! And I still bet it was some kind of veiled allusion to Rose. Because Rose is amazing. The end.

The roommate and I bought a tv yesterday, as our old one and its lack of ability to play DVDs (poor thing's older than I am) finally drove us to it. Thank goodness for university classifieds and people moving out of res wanting to offload their stuff ASAP. But, not only does our new tv play DVDs (yay), it ALSO gets us two more channels with the bunny ears for some reason. Before we could only get CTV (at least we could watch Pushing Daisies. When it was on. WOE) but now we get Global AND the CBC! THREE WHOLE CHANNELS! (That's only one less than we had with normal cable in NZ) I can watch the news! And hockey! And Rick Mercer! These are exciting times.

And tonight I'm going over to my friends' to watch the Superbowl. And while I love the company, I can't say football exactly tickles my fancy. So I'm bringing my knitting. You so know who's going to be the coolest cat at that party. Oh yeah. ;)

You have no idea how disappointed I am that you are going within any distance of football, darling. *regards you archly*. Lol, but at least knitting is yay. *nods nods*. Have fun!

How was the Dawn lecture on Thursday? Did I miss out on lotsa fun stuff?

Hey, I said the football was because of friend-bonding. I was being social. And knitting. I rock. ;)

The lecture was good, I took a LOT of notes. I'll show you in Romantics this morning. (Whoo, Byron!)

[identity profile] xtinethepirate.livejournal.com 2008-02-04 09:01 pm (UTC)(link)
*snickers* Byron indeed. That's the most fun I've had in a Romantics class in a long time. *giggles at your icon* I bet Shelley doesn't argue with Byron's big sword....

*innocent eyes*

LOL I might knit while watching the Superbowl. I have no real invested interest in football, but I'm from Boston so I have to take care of my New England-ish sports-related viewing requirements. At least my dad will be pleased, and I bought baked Lay's chips and dip, so yay. But I'm already put off by Fox's incredible American bombast. Oh, football.

One thing that's disappointing is that we don't get the Superbowl commercials in Canada, which are really the only thing worth watching. Though the game was pretty good -- and surprising if nothing else. Still, my knitting took most of my concentration. ;)

(Though I ate SO many chips and salsa. Blerg.)

Yay Torchwood! I knew you would get into eventually. Plus, how much does snarky!Ianto rock this season?

Yes, you're very smart. It's still not my favourite thing in the world but... it's slightly better. And Ianto has gone from incredibly annoying to bearable now, so it's an improvement.

I don't think I've had any plain banana yoghurt in ages! Now you've made me want some lol

I'm so not a football person but I'm curious to see who wins... I'll probably catch a full 10 minutes of the game total... I also want to see the new House afterwards... I'm hoping for no overtime ;)

IT'S SO GOOD, RIGHT? Mmm... banana-y goodness.

Yeah, football (and sports in general) are not my thing, but it's still somewhat fun in a group. And no overtime! Hope you enjoyed the House! Oh, Hugh Laurie.

*runs off to watch Jeeves and Wooster*

Knitting during sporting events is the cat's meow!

This year I bought my first TV and I've never felt more grown up.
