decorating on half a shoestring

Know what's awesome? Decorating one's room with hi-res public domain art. Yup! Easy-peasy lemon squeezy, y'all. Thank you colour printers, cardstock, and cheapo dollar store frames (if I could only find the closest dollarama. *googles*)

This site: Vintage Printable, has a TONNE of images in all sorts of different categories. Right now I'm obsessing over these David Roberts prints of Egypt, because I am super chouette like that. And I think all the sand in them complements the VIBRANT YELLOW colour of my room. And if they don't, luckily I'm colourblind so I'll just ignore anyone who tries to tell me otherwise. ;) DECORATING GENIUS, THAT'S ME.

AAAAAAANYWAY... tv! That's fun, right? Much better than doing my readings anyway. Last night's Castle was a lot of fun, despite that plot already happening on Bones three years ago. But Castle got all affronted over grammatical murder, so my English majorness was basically rolling over in delight. And I continue to find Ted and his snobbery the Best Thing Ever, so HIMYM was a win too. And The Big Bang Theory! Who else watches this? SHELDON. HEARTPONIES.

Now, um... when does Seeker come back?

OOOH. THOSE PRINTS ARE SO PRETTY.

I've seen the Castle plot on the third(?) season of Due South, too, which was even longer ago than bones, so yeah, not the most unique thing. But the LONG RANT ABOUT VARIOUS GRAMMATICAL ELEMENTS WAS LOVELY. Who/whom, your/you're, ironic/just plain tragic.

I kind of wanted Castle to make the guy who killed the doctor write out the sentence he wrote on her face 10 times, but correctly. ;)

INDEED. MY BRAIN IS FLUTTERING BETWEEN "OOH, BIRDIES," AND "OOH! CRUMBLING TEMPLES!" DECISIONS, DECISIONS.

Yeah. Nathan Fillion + Grammar Rants was pretty damn sexy, well done, show. And Ryan and Esposito are also quickly becoming my favourites. Becket is, well... she's nice!

POETIC JUSTICE, INDEED.

It's superficial of me, I realize, but I find I like Becket a lot less now that her hair isn't that supercute short, dark 'do she had last season. I keep seeing mullet in her new look. :/

NATHAN FILLION NEEDS TO TALK GRAMMAR ALL THE TIME. ALL. THE. TIME.

Well, I've been hair!observing too, so let's be friends! I actually liked Becket's hair a lot better last week (and the random russian bimbo act was adorable), but yeah, I could see mullet in last night's. Never good. And Castle's mum had a new bad 'do too! IT'S A PANDEMIC.

MMM... GUH, AGREED. Maybe he'll start on twitter!

so let's be friends!

I'm not sure I would go that far. I mean, we just met and all. ;)

But yeah, I noticed Castle's mom's new look too, and wasn't pleased with that either. But I liked Becket's hair slightly more this week than last. I don't know, I actually saw the mullet more LAST week, save for Russian bimbo moment. (also, how lulzy that she wears clothes that can so easily be made into Russian hooker outfits. *snort*)

Misha already has a move for grammatically correct tweets ONLY (and correct spelling, of course) from all his minions. He is, of course, exempt from this rule. ;) I think he and Nathan could be quite a force to be reckoned with!!! DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNNNNN.

I'll make you pie if you'll be friends with me! (Have we already had this conversation? *g*)

PIE? I LIKE PIE. GIMME PIEEEE!!!!

(lol, any memory of this conversation has been wiped out with the promise of pie. :D)

Mmmm. Those prints of the entrance to Petra are HOT. I really want to go to there. Damn, I really need to change careers and be an archeologist already.

I know! I love the scale of Roberts' art--all grandiose and inviting at the same time.

If you get hop on board with the archaeology there, I will bring the lemonade and sunscreen! ;D

WHEE! DECORATIONS! (THAT ARE NOT HALLOWEEN OR CHRISTMAS RELATED! I APPROVE!)

What was the Castle plot? I saw the beginning of the episode then stopped watching. YES, I ENJOY SNOB!TED. AND HIS LAME PUNS. AHAHA. I feel like I would not really miss Leonard if he left The Big Bang Theory. I was way more invested in the cricket antics, but love Raj best of all!

Unrelated Question: who is the bigger Booth/Bones shipper?

THE CONTENDERS:

Sweets - He is like their baby duckling and he wants his ma and pa to get married already! He wrote a shipper manifesto!

Angela - She tells Brennan that Booth is hot and that SHE would like to do him, so GET ON THAT ALREADY, GIRLFRIEND!

Cam - despite being the ex, she can read Booth really well and tells HIM when he is in love with Brennan!

Caroline - she is maybe the winner because despite less screen time, she is the only one of the four TO GET THEM TO KISS THAT ONE TIME.

The Castle plot was that these two connected murders were connected because the murderers switched victims with each other. Like in Bones, when the murders are all staged to look like the ones in her book (also like Castle!).

And I like the Unrelated Question! Instead of answering definitively, though, I'm going to let them all take the stage:

Sweets - Yeah, he's up there. (Except for that little thing in the premiere.) He'll probably cry when they actually get together. But I also can't help but wondering if he'd also be just as happy to observe them, whatever their relationship. I can believe that he doesn't necessarily want Booth rushing in and disturbing the relationship they have right now.

Angela - In my mind, there is a conversation that goes like this:
BRENNAN *confused face*: I'm in love with Booth.
ANGELA: Oh, sweetie. *pats* I know. We all know. We've known forever. Cam?
CAM: Forever.
She really just wants them both to be happy, and is pretty sure sex will get them there. ;)

Cam - I'm not sure I'd really class her as a shipper as such. She's just too pragmatic. She knows they're in love with each other, has accepted it and everything. Like Angela (maybe they should be some kind of team shipper together) she both really has they're happieness in mind, I believe.

Caroline - She certainly does win for getting them to smooch. Except she didn't do it out of any shipper tendencies--she just thought it would be funny. NOW, however...

Yeah, in conclusion... I don't think for any of them it's a matter of fervent desire to see Booth and Brennan together. They're all just waiting for the inevitable. :DDDDDDDDDD

Those prints. Are. GORGEOUS. I had some gouches I did of my friends hanging on my walls but they were only held up with bluetak and kept falling down. Hesitant to start nailing things into my rented walls... but now I desperately want to decorate.

BUT WHERE IS THE FABLED BASEMENT PICSPAM, HMM? (Why no, this is not the only thing I have to look forward to in my life :P)

The Fabled Basement spam is delayed because the fricken basement is delayed! In being done. That is. And I think if I start posting WIP photos I'll be seriously jinxing myself. ;P

Is Legend of the Seeker another fabulous BBC show?

You're welcome!

LoTS is actually an ABC/Disney syndicated show. It's pretty much Xena for this decade. Cheesy, epic, and FAAAAAAAAABULOUS! CHECK IT OUT.
