Title: Changes in Circumstance
Summary: Alexis's family has gone through some changes lately. She's fairly happy about it all.
Characters: Alexis Castle; Jim Beckett.
Rating: G
Disclaimer: Andrew Marlowe is a pretty rad dude, and I'm sure he wouldn't mind me abusing his characters just a little in the name of some innocent fun.
Author's Note: Many months ago (and possibly a few times since) I promised [livejournal.com profile] fidesangelus I would write her CANADIAN BABIES FIC (aka Castle/Beckett babies who would obvs be beautiful little Canadians, whatever you believe it too). Suffice to say it never happened... UNTIL NOW. Proof that good things come to those who wait. A ridiculously long time. For lazy friends. But at least I still beat Marlowe out on this one! It's also occurred to me that I seem to be incapable of writing anything besides babyfic now, but I've decided to be okay with that. Babies are adorable! And I have no shame. ;D

The phone call finally came—buzzing on silent against the table until Alexis snatched it up in one quick movement and pressed it against her ear.  )

I've had this Haven fic stuck in my head for ages and it feels like it's never going to be written. So I thought I'd try the tested and true method of just ignoring it and flexing my atrophied writing muscles elsewhere. So if you want to leave me some prompts, I'll comment fic you back with 100 words or less (ish). Just to get some writerliness back into my self.

All my fandoms are fair game--check 'em out here or on my tumblr (same user name) if you'd like. And if you've left me any unfulfilled prompts in the past (yes, Carrie) then of course you can leave them again! But no promises. ;P

So I'm halfway through reading week and running out of procrastinate-y things to do when I thought, "AHA!" (I do think this way) "You know what I haven't tried in a LONG time? Drabble requests!"

So yes, without making any promises, if you want to prompt me anything (fandom-character/pairing-idea) I will try and write a few sentences or so just to stretch the old-hardly-used-wow-now-i-feel-ancient fic muscles. Extra points for Seeker prompts that fit into the EPIC SEEKER REWATCH viewing schedule, but really I'll take anything. I think y'all know what my fandoms are, and if not feel free to troll my fic tags.

OKAY LET'S MAKE A GO OF THIS. *RUBS HANDS*

You know what I haven't talked about in a long time? TV. Which is hilarious considering how much of it I'm still watching. Like I'd ever give up on TV. Looooooooool.

So many other exciting TV in my life. Castle has been slowly worming it's way into my heart of late--surprising perhaps because even though I've been watching it for two years now, I've really started to notice just how consistently enjoyable and fun it is. Every episode ends with me smiling like a fool. And there's not a single character I don't like. And so excited for next week. SO EXCITED!

And finally speaking of excited--OH MY GOOD GOLLY GOD FRINGE IS FINALLY COMING BACK TO ME ON FRIDAY IT HAS BEEN FAR TOO LONG WITHOUT MY BB OLIVIA AND LORD ALMIGHTY I HOPE IT DOES WELL WITH IT'S NEW FRIDAY SLOT. I CANNOT THINK OF A UNIVERSE WITHOUT IT NOW. I AM TOO FAR GONE.

Know what's awesome? Decorating one's room with hi-res public domain art. Yup! Easy-peasy lemon squeezy, y'all. Thank you colour printers, cardstock, and cheapo dollar store frames (if I could only find the closest dollarama. *googles*)

This site: Vintage Printable, has a TONNE of images in all sorts of different categories. Right now I'm obsessing over these David Roberts prints of Egypt, because I am super chouette like that. And I think all the sand in them complements the VIBRANT YELLOW colour of my room. And if they don't, luckily I'm colourblind so I'll just ignore anyone who tries to tell me otherwise. ;) DECORATING GENIUS, THAT'S ME.

AAAAAAANYWAY... tv! That's fun, right? Much better than doing my readings anyway. Last night's Castle was a lot of fun, despite that plot already happening on Bones three years ago. But Castle got all affronted over grammatical murder, so my English majorness was basically rolling over in delight. And I continue to find Ted and his snobbery the Best Thing Ever, so HIMYM was a win too. And The Big Bang Theory! Who else watches this? SHELDON. HEARTPONIES.

Now, um... when does Seeker come back?
